A Different Coke Can

Bored of the same old shape of a can of soda?

Pre-Calculus students were challenged to find a new design for a soda can with the following restrictions:

1)             The can MUST hold the regular 355 ml of soda.

2)             The rectangular area that you use for the side of the can must be the size given to you by the marketing department.  They will determine how much area is needed to display the logo and nutrition information on the can.

3)             The demonstration model you create MUST not leak so it can be tested.

As you can see, many different alternative shapes of cans are possible.
