Construction of Box Tornado

Step1
Make sure you have access to a person who has the following tools.

Step2

Then, you must cut the plywood boards to make sure that they are the right size.  The following sizess are needed

Step 2
A 6" hole must be cut in the 3/8" x 16" x 16" square board for the stovepipe and a 12" hole must be cut in the other 3/8" x 16" x 16" square board in order to hold the pie pan.

Step 3
Seven 1/2" ventilating holes must be drilled in the one of the 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 14 1/2" boards.

Step 4
Then, assemble a box from 2 pieces of the 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 16" and 2 pieces of the 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 14 1/2".  Use the 3/8" x 16" x 16" square with the 6" hole for the top of the box.  The finished box should be a 16" square.

Step 5
Spray paint the outside of the box black and the inside of the box white.

Step 6
Install 4 ceramic light bulb holders between the hole and the corners of the inside of the box.  Each light bulb socket will hold 25 Watt light bulbs.  Use wire strippers and wire cutters to install the light bulbs.  Each wire should be stripped and separated.  Make sure to attach one end to the electrical plug.

Step 7
Cut the quarter rounds into two 14" and two 16" pieces.  Use tiny nails to attach the quarter rounds to the outside and inside edges of the open-end of the box.  They should be able to hold the glass and masonite between the two quarter rounds.

Step 8
Assemble a second box from the other 2 pieces of the 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 16" and the other 2 pieces of the 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 14 1/2".  Make sure that one of the 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 14 1/2" has the 7 ventilation holes on the front of the box.  Use the other 3/8" x 16" x 16" square with the 12" hole for the bottom of the box.  The finished box should be a 16" square.

Step 9
Again spray paint the outside of the box black and the inside of the box white.

Step 10

Then attach the 1/4" quarter rounds to the outside and inside edges of the open-end of the box, but one edge should only have a quarter round on the inside half so that the masonite wall can be easily removed.  The masonite will be the opposite side of the 7 ventilation holes.

Step 11
Adjustable legs may be added to the bottom (open) end if you wish.

Step 12
First drill holes in the angle irons, two on each side.  Then attach the angle irons to the bottom of the unit.  They should attach about halfway up on each outside corner.

Step 13
Insert the glass and masonite pieces to the bottom of the box.  Make sure that the masonite is on the back wall.  Once all the sides are in place, attach the top box.

Step 14
Carefully mark on the wood where a hole should be drilled.  Then have one person hold the boxes in the air while you put a screw through the angle irons and into the wood on all four sides.  Make sure you have others to help hold the glass in place.

Step 15
Put a handle on the piece of masonite and slide it in between the quarter rounds..

Step 16
Put the hot plate on the bottom of the box.  Then put the pie plate on the inside of hole in the bottom box.  Finally put water inside the pie plate.

Step 17
Sand the top hole to make it a little bigger and stick the ventilation pipe in it.

Step 18
Set a fan on top of the pipe.

Step 19
Make sure all the glass and the masonite are all slid to the right side, so that the air can circulate.  Then plug in the fan, lights, and hot plate.

Step 20
Wait until the steam builds up and then turn on the fan.
