After graduating from DMLC in 1988, Mr. Kuehl took an emergency call to teach math, science, and computer programming at California Lutheran High School (then in Garden Grove, CA).  After serving the one-year call, Mr. Kuehl continued his studies in education at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI.  While there as a student, he also taught Pre-College Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Linear Algebra as an adjunct faculty member.  After student teaching at Vincent High School in Milwaukee, Mr. Kuehl received WI State Certification to teach mathematics in grades 6-12 in 1990.
Mr. Kuehl then went on to work on his Master's Degree at UW-Milwaukee.  While there, he continued to teach at WLC occasionally.  He also became a research assistant on the Integrating Technology into Math and Science Education (ITME) Project.  The other research assistant on the project, Barbara Wedemayer (BJ) became Mr. Kuehl's wife on June 11, 1994 in a medieval wedding ceremony at Grace Lutheran Church, Milwaukee.  Mr. Kuehl received his Master's in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics in May, 1994.
