| This box
is part of the Great Lakes LB Group’s 2005 Exchange – Monty Python’s The Holy Grail. Before beginning your quest for this box and the Grail please visit the Holy Grail main page (high speed) (dial-up) and read about the specifics of the series and about its special hitchhiker. Clues: Les Arends Forest Preserve is on Route 31, north of Mooseheart Road, south of Batavia. Park at the furthest parking lot. Stand with your back against the lightpost and take a bearing of 85 degrees to find a small opening in the brush. Follow this path across the bike trail and continue into the woods. This trail is long and a bit twisty. Follow the trail until it turns to asphalt. Just after the asphalt begins, on the left side of the path, you'll notice a sort of basin, the entrance to which is marked by 2 large rocks. Make your way across the basin until you find a path. Follow this path until you come to a very thin tree arched overhead. Look to the right to see a tall (about 6 foot) stump. Behind this stump, you will see yet another stump. It is triangular in shape and resembles a fireplace. Make your way to this stump. Take a bearing of 69 degrees and walk 14 steps to a pile-up of discarded limbs. We've attempted to mend the "flesh wound" in which the box is placed. |
