This box
is part of the Great Lakes LB Group’s 2005 Exchange –
Monty Python’s The Holy Grail.
Before beginning your quest for this box and the Grail please visit the Holy
Grail main page (high speed) (dial-up)
and read about the specifics of the
series and about its special
hitchhiker.
Clues:
Please bring your own inkpad and pen.
Any color will do.
FYI – This box is camo-taped.
Blacktop, mulch and dirt paths, Not stroller-friendly,
Ducking through somewhat dense forestation
Leashed dogs allowed
Park in the Winston Woods
parking lot off of Winston Drive.
You will see a park & shelter in front of you
and a blacktop path heading off to the right.
Begin your quest by
following the blacktop path north towards the woods.
Soon you will see a mulch trail on your left.
Follow the mulch trail until you cross a small
green bridge.
Head left on the other side of the bridge.
Stay on this trail past your first right and
onto the next fork.
Head right (careful of all the tree roots) and
you will come to another fork.
Head right again (left leads up a steep
incline).
Very soon you will see another steep incline on the
left.
From here continue forward on the trail (due north)
about 30 steps and you will see some downed logs on your left.
Venture 7 steps into the woods on your left and
you should see half a tire on the ground.
Your prize awaits in the split of the downed
tree across from the tire.
If you would like a nice
view of Bolingbrook, head back the way you came and up the first steep
incline, which will now be on your right.
Originally we had planted the letterbox up here,
but it looks like some work is being done in the area and we didn’t want to
risk it going MIA again.
If you would like to see where you are standing
from lower ground – you will want to take a ride down Rt. 53.
From Winston Drive, head right onto Boughton Road.
At the second stoplight - make a right onto Rt.
53.
Pay attention because it will be on your right as you
head down Rt. 53.
